CRAFT FAIR

The Social Committee hosted the 2nd Annual Cascades Neighborhood Craft Fair on September 23rd. 

We had 38 vendors participate,  12 of those being fellow Cascades Neighbors!

PAINT THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Paint the Neighborhood is a fun-filled event where kids and adults can bring out their creative minds to "paint" their driveways and sidewalks for neighbors to enjoy! We enjoyed seeing the creations.

📖 Cascades Book Club 📖

Avid reader? Working to reach your reading goal? Occasional reader? Join the Cascades Book Club! All are welcome! Didn't get the book completely finished before the book club date?? Absolutely no judgment from this group - you're still welcome to join!

The Cascades Book Club meets at 7:30 PM on the dates listed below. Reach out to Rachel Carder to be added to the Cascades Book Club Facebook group.

  • November 7th: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt*
  • December 12th: The 13th Gift by Joann Huist Smith
  • January 2nd: Boundaries: Updated and Expanded by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend
  • February 6th: The Only One Left by Riley Sager*
  • March 5th: The Echo of Old Books by Barbara Davis (not currently available on Libby)

*Denotes a popular book, plan ahead if using the Library to get on the waitlist, or follow along in the Facebook group to see if anyone has one ready to be passed around!


🌱 Green-Thumb Cascades Neighborhood 🌱

Green-Thumb Cascades Neighborhood is a group on Facebook where plant lovers of the Cascades can share their collections, tips, and tricks for growing plants!

COMMUNITY UPDATES

COMO 411

What's the COMO 411? The hub for all things COMO! Through the power of stories and connections, COMO 411 utilizes digital mediums to showcase the community of Columbia.

Fellow neighbor, Adonica Coleman, is the creator and host of the digital talk show that focuses on our community. New episodes drop every Thursday at 4:11 PM.

Trash Bins

Neighbors will be receiving a postcard in October with instructions on selecting a cart. Customers will have the choice of three cart sizes, and the fee for service will be based on the size of the roll cart:
  • 35-gallon -holds approximately two to three 13-gallon bags – $12.87 per month.
  • 65-gallon – holds approximately five to six 13-gallon bags – $17.37 per month (the current fee).
  • 95-gallon – holds approximately seven to ten 13-gallon bags – $22.50 per month.
Additional carts and one-time extra collections will be available for additional fees.
